Automatically switch between Eevee and cycles to samples
So Eevee is so fast and fluid, while cycles has the great finished render. Often users work in cycles and try to ignore the noise until a certain threshold, where the render is tolerable to look even with denoiser on. This may be only a couple of seconds, but it is a little like turning the lights off while driving for a couple of seconds.
How about this option idea?
Eevee cycles auto switch. Our model is displayed in glorious cycles then, as soon as an edit, camera rotation or whatever starts the render 'cycle' again, Blender quickly switches to Eevee automatically and stays there until a background render with cycles has reach a certain sample threshold that the user chooses.
When that is reached, Blender switches over to the tasty Cycles render in the viewport. That way the user can continue to adjust and see real time feedback ( with Eevee) , then on a pause you get Cycles 'automagically ' reappearing for that render you want.
The best of both worlds, fast Eevee for working that flicks back to Cycles for ' proofing'.
What thinketh thou?

I'm not sure that switching between two render pipelines in rapid succession is needed. Especially with the advent of Cycles X and Optix denoising, Cycles preview is hardly sluggish or inaccurate enough to warrant the feature. On a good card, 8 samples with denoising is almost instantaneous.
Interested to hear what others say, but I've personally never found myself wishing for this since EEVEE/Cycles are a quick pie menu flick away from each other. By all accounts thank you for the proposal though! It's a good slice of thinking and I hope you propose more in the future :).
@WickedInsignia Did you meet in Your carer of ussage Blender cases where Blender computing long time the movements coz many objects are on Scene? I meeting this, and when Optix turned On. Sometimes is when change option that is not related with render and have rendering process. Also worst is the move viewport and waiting coz forgot change Render to Solid. blender.community/c/rightclickselect/99p3/
I can't say I have, but then again I don't really use highly dense objects or many different objects (200+) in a scene. I tend to keep things efficient since I understand Blender will start chugging the higher you go, as I expect would happen in any 3D software.
Is Blender's behavior on this front unusual in comparison to other 3D software?
Yes, the other working slow but working, but Blender can "hang out" and crash but the reaction for move in Cycles is longer (eg. 15 seconds to compute new position and start render).
this proposal assumes a lot of things about how rendering works, but the one I will address is the assumption that rendering in eevee is "free" which it isn't. you would effectively be paying for two renderers instead of one (in terms of performance), and the time it takes to compile eevee shaders, which is already not insignificant on decent sized scenes, would go up significantly when cycles is consuming threads to build its BVH. And that is to say nothing of the visual differences, etc.
It also assumes two renderers output the same image. Short answer: never has and never will.
Not sure about this option. I see here more expectations to swtich from Cycle to Eve if moving viewport. Eg. by this can solve some "hangout" if hard job is for re-render. It can be as option to swith for this cases. For lower hardware have sense. This is issue like this: blender.community/c/rightclickselect/Z8W6/ Optmization for viewport refresh (Cycles)
Actually, noise tell you a lot of things about your render (optimisations, difficult lighting conditions, etc...). There is really no need to try to ignore it or to hide it. At the contrary, being aware of your noise level or the convergence time is quite helpful.
I am convinced that this new function will require more resources.
This proposal is also not for resource optimization. What if someone has a machine with enough power? If it were there, could it be tested?
How about if you could set a timer?
Only start the cycles rendering after x seconds without changing the viewport.
Just give option to this type behavior for viewport:
Then next option to
Thats fine.. I'm looking this ; ) I working often on laptop and it's not a "Beast", and laptops is often not for Blender maybe.. but can be..
