+1 But no one work on knife tool update. First of all it need just to make it able to snap to something more than just inside edited object. Lot of people ask for this for long time - still not here.
I would make this more general. You should be able to constrain directions globally, locally, Normal-ly. Only having constraints in screen view is so limiting! This would be a perfect project for GSOC.
