open node search and generate node by clicking and dragging node wires ( Faster workflow possibility)

Hello guys I would like to propose a feature that may be useful when using blender's noding system. This feature would allow user to open the node search tool by clicking and dragging the node wire. I believe this will help make the shader editor workflow much faster.

This feature is similar to unreal engines noding system workflow. Lastly this feature can be optional, in situations where some users are more comfortable with just using the shift a hotkey.

Thanks.

Yes. Yes! YES!!! Love it in Unreal. Feel lack of it so much.

* @IIIFGIII * Oh that's in Unreal by default? Interesting. In that case it may an industry standard worth paying attention to.

I'm not sure I like this idea. Most of the time when I pull a noodle from a node, I'm doing so to connect to another node that I've already created, not to create a new node. I feel a search pop-up would just get in my way.

* @Jason van Gumster * Again this is not a fixed feature the users can enable or disbale it in the preference settings.

I also find this workflow weird at first but when you get used to it it is just like a natural way of instantly creating and connecting nodes you just created.

* @johnpdelacruz26 * I agree with Jason. I don't really agree with the "add it as a preference" solution for a lot of the suggestions on RCS. Blender is chock-a-block with options. It actually needs LESS options.

Congesting it with user's every whim is just bloat. Might make for a nice addon? Would be a good test of it's popularity.

* @Jason van Gumster * Am I missing something ? I thought it would just pop up when you release the mouse in an empty space ?

* @Logan Preshaw * Compared to other 3D packages, Blender is doing a great job at minimizing clutter. At least compared to zbrush, 3dsmax and maya. But I agree with you: It should stay that way.

* @rbx775 * Ah... I'd overlooked that. That's probably not as bad as I was envisioning it could be.
