Easy and intuitive animation layer system
I'm a professional animator who worked in tv, vfx and feature animation, and the most powerful tool and most used for me and my colleagues, was the animation layers in maya.
My suggestion goes to a rewrite of the layer system, allowing to simply select a control, a group or an attribute and make an additive or override layer. We can save so muck time with this tool!
NLA is cool for blending clips and mixing presets motions, but it's not practical for making small changes, like dailies notes or small tweaks.
I'm really in to start a full production of an animation short on my free time, but the lack of a good animation layer system, is the biggest downside of Blender for me, specially cause my time is short, so please take my note in consideration!

This is one of the most requested features.
Although I would argue that NLA is the better choice -- the UI/UX needs work, though. But if you find yourself doing small tweaks often, you should consider building tweak controls into the rig, or using Delta transforms.
* @Josephbburg * I understand your advice and appreciate it, in fact NLA has some cool feature, but again, I feel that animators need simple and non destructive solutions, our job is very complex so the easier and simpler we can make it the better.
* @joaoalexdias * Yeah, it's a known to-do. There's not much less to do but wait, unless you have a mockup you want to share :D
