Edge Line Width
During the discussion about wireframes it was noted that having Face centers visible would make things too crowded, so the visibility of them was disabled by default. Therefore in order to make it easier to tell if you were in Edge mode, the edges were made thicker. However I feel the visual quality and fidelity of the new Edge Line Width is subpar; small meshes, close or cramped details, looking at a mesh from a distance, are all made more difficult to asses or select due to the thicker lines.
I would like to propose a Theme setting to change the thickness of the Edge Line Width. Same as with Face Dot Size, and Vertex Size. The default can stay thicker, for new users who may have a difficult time knowing which mode their in, however those like myself can go in and change the thickness to be the same as the other modes. Also a way to disable the anti-aliasing would be nice as well.

it makes me think why are there so many proposals for this feature over eight years and they still haven't implemented it?
Have you checked the viewport theme settings? It's been there for a while.
This is just SO urgent. On 4K screens it is barely visible.
This is still very much needed...
I do agree the thick lines are very intrusive and I still can't get used to antialiased wireframe. I wish we had something cleaner.
* @pintorfj * You can disable anti-aliasing in the User Preferences, in the Viewport tab, under "Quality". Only the outline of mesh objects remains anti-aliased. Note that you have to restart Blender for some of the changes to take effect.
