UV Editor: automatic opening of currently edited images
When you hit tab, to edit a object/mesh, the UV grid displays just fine, but i think it is cumbersome to open the associated image texture manually in UV Editor.
Its clear to me that many different materials/images can be assigned to one object, but at least in my case displayed "default" image content is most of the the time totally unrelated to what i am working on, unless i choose it in the image file selector.
Solution from user IIIFGIII: :
Amaranth toolset addon, - which seems to ship with blender 2.8, and must be activaded, offers the "double click image input-node" option, the linked image loads properly in the existing uv editor window! thanks!

IIIFGIII: It happend to be amaranth toolset was already installed - did not know it is working in 2.8- great!- so if you double click the image input node (and have a uv edit window already open), it loads the linked image properly into it - that is a very good solution!
IIIFGIII: thanks! It looks exactly what i am looking for, will try tomorrow!
