Blender Benchmark integrated into Blender itself

The Blender Benchmark should be integrated into Blender itself for greater accessibility and functionality and for fewer Blender users to experience Errors. An example of what it would look like: uv.png Blender Benchmark can be accessed via this menu: Snimka zaslona 2024-12-25 175617.png

and for fewer Blender users to experience Errors

How would including the benchmark and support scenes into the main application (and doubling the download size) help anyone experience fewer errors?

It's a benchmark suite, not a troubleshooter.

Agree. Concerning the " greater accessibility and functionality ":

AFAIK the only users that litterally "need" a benchmarking tool are people who actively make hardware comparison, such as a hardware comparison company or a tech news feed like Linus Tech Tips on Youtube.

I bet most of the benchmarks sent are by people curious about their system's performance or who just want to contribute to the database. But that's not worth adding data to download for every download and for every user. The current benchmark seems to download a total of 900MB compressed for a build of Blender + benchmark scenes.

But besides that:
For a valuable benchmarking, you need context consistency, and that requires among other things to run on a "vanilla" installation of Blender, not on whatever the user have which can be tempered with addons and whatnot. Hence, the benchmarking tool downloads its own Blender on the side instead of using whatever you have on your system. So you will re-download Blender anyway. Adding another 900MB.

And not only that, but the cool thing about the benchmarking tool is that it can test multiple versions. Another reason to not have this tool alongside each Blender download.
