Enable "selection only" checkbox as default on stl export
When exporting objects to stl, the export becomes rubbish if the checkbox is not selected. So it would be nice, to save the extra action (and attention) to that checkbox by selecting it as default.
This idea was marked as a duplicate of Export Selection Only on by default in 2.8.

The code for this feature is here developer.blender.org/D6616 but we still wait since then to be reviewed by the fundation to be in the master.

hi, you can easily fix it manually - just go to C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender 2.83\2.83\scripts\addons\ io_mesh_stl__init__.py (your version of blender) and change 'selection only' default with True imgur.com/j3FwKJQ
* @impacman * Would be nice to have this in the default .blend, when you download many version of blender, or daily build. Maby it would be possible to open blender with argument to solve that ?
I'm trying to set the default here as well, but I'm on a Mac. I don't appear to have a io_mesh_stl_init file, or do I know what the patch.diff file is. Any help?
