Select back faces without xray mode.
Please guys.... Make option to turn on/off selection of back faces/verticles/edges without xray. Xray - good solution to diplay geometry, but this is really badsolution to select back faces as a single way. You will see, ALL artists will use this options by default. So i recommend to turn this on.

Personally, I absolutely hate this from Maya but I agree that an option in the tool settings could be a good solution for everyone

I want this so much.
This add-on does exactly this! blenderartists.org/t/box-select-x-ray/1212316 Basically it activates x-ray automatically every time you select, and in the add-on preferences you can disable "Show x-ray", so it selects through but without showing you the x-ray mode! It also has some nice features like select faces in wireframe without clicking on the face-dots
* @slowk1d * I can list at least 5 different addons that do the same thing- at some point though you have to ask yourself why so many addons are solving the same problem, and if it's something that so many people are interested in having why isn't it built into Blender itself?
* @testure * I know and I agree with you, I'm supporting as well the huge thread on devtalk... I just wanted to share the add-on first because he might haven't known about it, and so far it's the best solution to this problem, second because unfortunately I don't see this request being implemented any time soon, if not at all. Devs have been quite silent or avoiding on this particular topic, even if it's a highly requested one.
