Add snapping to " Vertex Slide " operation.
For now " Vertex Slide " operation have only incremental snapping depended to slide edge length.
It would be cool to add to " Vertex Slide " ability to use ordinary snap methods. It is simple, fast, and very comfortable operation. Also it is very convenient because of option " Correct UVs ". But the impossibility of an ordinary snapping makes it not enough universal.
I see it as snapping in " Normal " for edge that used to slide current vertex axes orientation space .
For multiple vertex maybe something like that:
- Active - " Normal " space of edge that belong to active vertex;
- Center and Median - " Normal " space of virtual edge interpolated from all edges that used for current slide operation ( I think this option would be very strange to use );
- Closest - " Normal " space of edge that belong to closest to snapping target vertex;
What do you think about this? Would such abilities be convenient in workflow and realistic for implementation?
PS Only what I find for this case is that . Holy crap ... So many moves for operation that should be so simple if vertex slide could snap.
PPS Of course I known that in Magic UV there is the possibility of preserving UV with " Texture lock ". But it is not as comfortable as vertex slide " Correct UVs " because it need to choice option " start lock " then make transforms and then do " stop lock "- so many moves. Also " Texture Lock " gives some UV distortion. I done test with moving vertex by ordinary transform with " Texture Lock " ON and then moving this vertex by " Vertex Slide " to same point. " Texture Lock " give some UV distortion when " Vertex Slide " distortion was close to absolutely zero. Some algorithm differences as I understand. In other case - ordinary transforms not always the same as vertex slide.
As always - thanks for reading. Also you can check my other suggestions .

still no snapping with the vertex slide ?
I just did. Let's see how it goes it would be great if you could comment the options so it can be discussed. blender.community/c/rightclickselect/TSbbbc/
I was going to post this same proposal and it truly amazes me it has so little upvotes. Maybe I should create a new one with some pictures and a simpler explanation. Then we could simply add other options underneath in the comments.
