Option to apply LUTs in compositing (or in color management tab.)

Option to apply LUTs in compositing (or in color management tab.)

For those that may not know, a LUT is a "Look up table". It's a quick and standard way to duplicate certain "looks" or color profile settings across different images (or image sequences). They can serve as a nice starting point or a quick preview in color management.

* @Jason van Gumster * Sweet. Merged with posts from 3-4 years ago. All traction = dead.

* @rileybrown704 * Unfortunate that you feel that way. This isn't about getting traction. It's about proposing ideas on how to improve Blender. If an idea has already been posted, then it makes more sense to add to that discussion/proposal than to post it all over again.

* @Jason van Gumster * These posts are from 3-4 years ago. They're buried and they're not getting anywhere. Say what you will, but traction plays a large role in what is "hot", what gets seen, and ultimately what gets worked on.

* @rileybrown704 * Then I'd suggest we change how this site displays/ranks proposals. Redundancy doesn't help anyone.

* @Jason van Gumster * I agree with both of you - double posting is not the solution. It's only getting messy. Initially I didn't saw this post - that was the reason why I postet the OCIO topic again. But you also have to agree that a LUT in the Compositer and a full OCIO Workflow are different things - of course they are related, but a LUT is just for viewing - with an OCIO you change the complete Color Pipeline. So that is influencing the whole texture and render workflow. I think that this will be a major topic when blender should work in a professional film vfx environment.....It was not my intention to annoy anybody with that. We are all on the same page here to make blender a better program!

I just did something like this, working in the compositor :) blendermarket.com/products/finallut

Still waiting for this function. I know there is a way to hardcode luts in the ocio in colormanagement tab. But i dont want to change the ocio which defines colors for all renders. And I dont want to hardcode it in config files. That is one of many reasons why a node in compositor is needed.

Btw. 2013 someone developed something likes this request. But its not working today. Maybe it can be updated: lists.blender.org/pipermail/bf-compositor/2013-November/000027.html

Screenshot of it: cs425127.vk.me/v425127915/3a26/IGZOF3t3tVM.jpg

I want exactly what is shown in the sreenshot. I hope someone mak es it comes true.

tbh that requires the compositor to have Color Space conversion tools, based on OCIO config, since many LUTs work in the log space or different color primaries.

... a ocio path integration would be also great! At the moment wwe have to switch the ocio in the root path of blender to change it...
