Link similar Suggestion in Right click select

Just For example one person requesting a feature " Snap to vertex" and another person request "Vertex snap". Both of them have the same intention. but they are two different posts, Therefore their vote count will be divided. we should have an option below the post to link it to another post so their Upvote can be added and will be noticeable to developers, Otherwise, every good suggestion will be thrown to the garbage. People sometimes face common problems and they post it to right select. I even wonder that every months thousand of suggestions came, how is this possible without repetition.

Great idea. Some kind of "Merge," feature would be great. The links could be suggested by users, but unfortunately the actual linking/merging would have to be done by a mod, as it would be too easy to abuse the system by linking your own (possibly unrelated) post to farm upvotes from somebody else.

* @Zach Hixson * And if the Merge is valid. their votes should be added together!

People should search for existing proposals and if there wasn't any similar proposals, submit new one. Otherwise it is better to add comments to existing ones.

* @yasharjk * Yes, while this is the preferred option, often times even with the best effort you miss an existing post. This happens a lot due to the fact that there are both technical and non technical people on these forums, meaning two posts could have the same intention, but completely different phrasing.

Another example of when this could be useful is even if two posts suggest different things, but are very closely related IE: One person suggests there should be a tool to instance items along a curve without deforming, and another person suggests that there should be a tool to make radial arrays without deforming. Both are different suggestions, but if/when they were implemented they might be part of the same tool.

* @Zach Hixson * I've seen many posts which was exact duplicate of another one and people haven't searched for that. It is hard to keep track of every new proposal to check if it is similar to another one or not. IMO the check process should be done by people and there should be options for the owner of the post to withdraw duplicate or convert the proposal to comment for an existing proposal. If it is slightly different or supplement, It can be posted in the comments and have it's own likes and dislikes there.

look at these posts they are exactly the same even for the title

* @yasharjk * I'm not saying it doesn't happen, and it's definitely common, I'm just saying this would still be a nice feature to have on the website.

* @Zach Hixson * I agree. I think there are features for merging topics in the developers forums. Those can be implemented here too.
