option for image editor to automatically change which image is displayed based on currently selected material node

Would be really handy if there was an option for the image editor to sync with which material node is currently selected in the shader editor's node graph. Even better if any node could be displayed (not just textures), for example if you want to inspect the result of several mixed noise nodes.

Check this topic + How you imagine to show in image editor any combied node output? It can be showed only on actuall mesh according to UV's in viewport.

* @IIIFGIII * it's possible in most other softwares directly in the shader editor's nodes at each step. Check out 3ds max or substance designer for example.

* @3d illusions * I don't need to check out Max or Designer - I know what it can show. Question is what exactly possible. For example - material contain some mix RGB node which use as a mask R output from Vertex Color. What in your imagination have to show you in this case image editor? Or any else combination which contain anything what comes from mesh ( UVs, scene position, tangent normal, per instance random... ).

Such node output can be showed only on mesh else it have no sense. UE 4 example - material editor have 3D sample window and show anything possible combined from nodes.

* @IIIFGIII * perhaps in that case a little flag to let the user know the current preview requires information outside of the node tree, and therefore should be checked in the renderview.
