Set playback sync to "frame-dropping" by default instead of "play every frame"

A small thing, but its always confused me how by default, playback sync is set to "play every frame" instead of "frame-dropping".

When using the "play every frame" setting, playback speed is tied to the framerate, thus causing the rendered animation to be slower or faster depending on how high or low your performance is while animating. Its something you have to know about in order to fix, and I've seen new blender artists get surprised by it and not realise whats happening.

"Play every frame" is capped at your scene's framerate, so if your system can handle more fps, it will yet not go faster than your scene requires. So the only downside you can get is playback slowdown if your system can't take process your scene fast enough.

However, playing every frame, even if your system is too slow to do so without slow down, is necessary for physics simulations to not break down.

A physics simulation breaking down is a worse UX than a slower viewport, and less obvious to debug. Hence it makes sense for this to be the default option out of the box. But it's very easy for a user to locally change that default setting for themselves.

It's incredibly rare that I use frame-drop; i certainly wouldn't want it to be the default.

Hello! I've added a proposal for a feature that lets you set your own default values , which might help with this issue...as well as many others 😁 Would be interested to hear what you think!
