Screen Reader / Text to Speech Support

Hi all,

My partner is trying to get into blender, but has a neurological issue that means whilst he can see perfectly fine, there is literally no way for him to read. Brain doesn't parse it at all.

He, and many other people, use NVDA or a similar program to access and use their computers. This is not possible in blender right now due to the way text is written in the program, and I don't know if it would even be possible to make it work.

What I am suggesting is either a way of making it work with screen readers such as NVDA, OR possibly a downloadable library of text-to-speech clips that play, probably just pushed out before the tooltip shows up on mouse-hover. I'm sure there'd be a system of allowing bulk-generated audio clips, named in such a way that each mouse-over pulls up a corresponding file.

This would open up Blender to thousands more users and actually give these people a chance at using the best 3d modelling software I've seen.

Have you tried to ask GPT-Chat? Sorry sounds like spam but it is really worth a try to ask for a solution of the issue. I would give it a try to ask and give you a solution, but I had too many requests today. openai.com . You have to make an account but it is free and may will help you and your partner and Blender with a solution.

tl;dr Unfortunetly due to how Blender works OS is not aware of texts in Blender and creating cross-platform solution would be hard.

And curent addon api afaik is not best for extracting text, at least i cannot do it.

Anyway, aren't there any good software that can just OCR text to speech?
