Add Attribute Inherit to the Attribute Transfer options

At the moment the Attribute Transfer node works by proximity. This is great if you're wanting to share attributes between disparate geometries, however, for a huge number of cases in animation, motion graphics, design, architecture, you want to be sending an attribute directly from the point to its corresponding instance.

The current system essentially doesn't work if you have:

  • Different sized elements
  • Irregular tiling
  • Shapes other than circle, square, hexagon

To make attribute transfer really work outside of the ideal shapes you need to be clever about creating multiple arrays in parallel and rejoining later so that you can sheppard the transfer.

If we just had an Inherit mode then it would open the doors to a lot of really cool use cases.

I'm not sure of the logistics of making it but from an artist point of view I think this is the "logical" functionality of Attribute Transfer.

I can see a potential issue with transfering data after the instances are realised. I wonder if perhaps inherited attributes could be shuttled across like this and have an auto-naming convention like position_inh and random_inh

I marked this as done, which I think is true, unless I misunderstood the post. Things have changed a lot!
