Light textures/IES for Eevee

I believe this feature has been discussed but never eventuated. So I want to push for further development in this area. I'm making a distinction between light textures and IES light textures as two different things, the main difference is light textures(or curves and ramps) allow for artist control whereas IES is intended for accuracy. Subtle features like this make game engines like Unreal far superior to Eevee for real-time rendering. While IES maybe harder to implement we should at least have the option for light textures or at minimum a curve or ramp to control spot shape, it would be better than the current hacks that have been attempted.

It would absurd for me to make this a fleshed out proposal because I lack an understanding of how it would best be achieved, so let's consider this a 'show of hands'.

I don't think it necessarily means that Eevee lights would need to support material nodes, and although I understand that the aim is to make Eevee match Cycles as close as possible, again having some control outside of the nodegraph would be better than none.

So there is a task, its name was changed to 'Light Nodetree support so I wasn't getting results by simply searching 'IES Eevee' developer.blender.org/T68472 unfortunately it has a low priority

In extension this should probably support light texture projection in general (if it doesn't already an I'm just not aware of it). Basically colored light cookies.

* @motionblur.of.doom * Yes light cookies would effectively be the same as supporting the node tree for lights.
