I've been thinking about this feature for a long time. It would be so wonderful to have a text texture in Blender! Adding procedural text to shaders, using text on brushes in sculpt and texture paint, driving displacement with a text texture... it has so many applications!

That would be awesome to add text decals procedurally with the shader editor, rather than having to use image textures which are hard to edit after being applied.
Could be nice if there were a way to link the same text string to different textures.
For example, suppose you have a spaceship, there could be one place where you type in the ship's name, and it would automatically propagate to all hull markings, the dedication plaque, master system display, motivational posters, whatever.
Another related feature could be to take the numeric output from somewhere else and render it as text.
A simple application would be to portray any kind of digital display, where you could animate the value and it would count up or down.
A more advanced use might involve pulling data from other objects, like an altimeter tracking an object's Z-coordinate. Or something like an instrument panel where Field C is based on some math operation off of the values from Fields A and B.

agree eases the work for artists.
Hi, would you like to rate my idea related to the same essence as yours, but I think it is several times better than other analogues blender.community/c/rightclickselect/E1zm/
