[IMPORTANT] Crease Set Manager
Hello! I'm a new Blender user! I've been working with Maya for years now but I am really enjoying Blender and I would like to switch completely. There's a feature that I use A LOT and it's what my entire workflow is based on: Creases.
I am a little bit disappointed with Blender's implementation of creases... and I think it's missing a KEY feature: Crease Sets! I know you can use vertex groups and kind of use them as Crease Sets but it's really not the same... I think Blender MUST add a Crease Set Manager where users can:
- Create multiple groups with different crease values
- Add edges of the same model to different groups
One thing about creasing in Blender is that there's also no option to set a "universal" crease value. You just kind of play with the slider or type the exact value you want every single time. A feature where you set the value you want, once and for all for the entire group, must also be added to the Crease Set Manager.

This is basically a duplicate of the edge groups concept , but applied to creases instead of bevels.
No. Please no crase/bevel/sharp sets separately!
We need general solution: edge groups with weights. So crease/sharp/bevel can use em.
If you want to select all creases with same value, just select one and press Shift+G, crease. Thats EZ. No groups, lists or something else.
* @ Vyacheslav * Selecting all the creases with the same value is not what I need at all. I don't care about that and I know how to do it already. As you said, I need a way to group edges with also an option to set a global value for the crease that stays set for that group FOR EVER. This way I can add edges to the group and they automatically get assigned that crease value that I chose. The issue blender has now is that the crease value gets reset every single time so you need to write it every time and you end up wasting a lot of time making creases a workflow that makes no sense to use in Blender compared to Maya or Max which have a crease system which is light years ahead
* @gregorio.piscitelli * So edge groups will rule all.
feels like something an addon could solve to me, I can't think of any core functionality that's missing that would prevent it from happening if someone were to take interest in it.
as a side note, everybody thinks their proposal is important, thats why they post it here. no need to add additional identifiers to your proposal to try to gain attention, that sort of thing usually has the opposite effect here.
I think there is a project called "Component (something)" where edge groups are possible. I don't have any more detail though, but it would adress this issue.
