Watercolor shader needed
MNPR Watercolor Shader, Open Source tools that need Porting!" artineering.io/publications/MNPR/ This has been developed and ported to Maya. They aren't interested in Blender due to financial incentives, as I have asked, but the code base is available and would need to be 'ported' in applicable code for Blender to use. I am including one example of the look, but the site has more. I did some research and found another thread on the same subject, no lost in the deluge of posting. blender.community/c/rightclickselect/cGbbbc/

I think a system for running user defined shaders has been needed for awhile, same with custom compositing nodes.
* @Zach Hixson * I think it would be awesome if there were a compositor node that runs G'Mic, which is a multi-threaded C++ image processing library (You might have seen the G'MicQT filters in KRITA or GIMP).
* @Josephbburg * Yeah, a widely used library such as that, as well as maybe a GLSL node would be great
* @Zach Hixson * i ported a shadertoy node from this repo github.com/bitsawer/blender-custom-nodes to the 2.8 version here: github.com/3dsman/blender/tree/shadertoy_node ;-)
There is a funded project to build a Python link bridge from GMIC to work with Blender, currently in development. I am monitoring the dev. which doesn't yet work on Windows, but soon... It has instruction for building that he posted, but not yet functioning. pypi.org/project/gmic/
The most part of watercolor feeling is colors + paper texture + blurring. You canachive it already. Ant post-process via shader-to-rgb. I don`t know if OSL-shaders will work with Eevee, bt try it.

* @Jorge Zombie * there is just simpliest example on the video, that you can postprocess with shader. Also I found how to make procedure darker outlines for color spots. So with some node magic watercolor is possible. But it requires more tuning.
If it is glsl/hlsl shader, probably it can be translated to nodes.
Hairy stroke — I`m not sure. There is vector math and I am not so familiar with it. {attachment 2020-03-28_13-50-55mp4}
Maybe someone who has the skills, can propose this as a GSOC project. Seems like a good possibility? to get it converted??
I've had my eye on this project since near the beginning, but I can never find time to try and port it myself. Not that I would have much luck in attempting to do so!
Perhaps we could have a suite of npr shader nodes that could be used together for this, or be used to create other effects.
