Hey Pablo,
I was wondering if we'll get the node based particle system/ node based physics in Blender in this year according to the Strategic Targets 2022 (
code.blender.org/2022/01/strategic-targets-2022/
). So far we've only heard about node based texturing but there are aslo Application Templates, Overrides, Physics on the list that we haven't heard about as far I'm aware. So are there any news about those?
Also, thanks for adding ACEScg for the sequencer but please add ACEScg view-transform/color transform in Blender in the future as well . Filmic is great, but since ACES has become an industry standard and it's pretty hard/pointless to get filmic outside of Blender when doing composting with Nuke or Fusion(It gets overcomplicated and doesn't work). Blender is becoming a part of pipeline in many studios and as far as I'm aware most pros using blender they are all using ACES because of interoperability and consistency of the color management between different softwares. I'm not arguing about which one is better, there is no need to remove filmic but just add ACEScg as view-transform alongside with filmic because even tho it's possible to manually install ACES in Blender, the UI is broken and because you have to modify the installation files, that becomes a hassle when using a render farm, so please please add ACEScg as view transform in the future version of Blender.
Also, why does the same guy present the new features of the new version of Blender with all the releases? He's great but why him all the time and no other people who are more popular in the Blender community?
Is there a nice guide on how to write feature proposals?
I want to make a feature request where we can have the ID Mask feature from the compositor to be brought into the Material Shaders. Helps with texturing.
Gracias.

Hi Pablo, All the work towards VR support for blender has been phenomenal. I was wondering if there were any plans to support colour management while in VR. The ability to use the filmic mode or simply change contrast and exposure would be great.

I should clarify. At the moment, no matter what color management settings you have, the headset will always display the basic sRGB image with no color transform applied to it

that sounds like a bug or overlooked part of the feature! that's a definite thing that needs fixing!
Do you know if there's going to be preset paint brushes (like: charcoal, fan brush, graphite pencil, etc) with the new paint update?Changing the brush settings every time you want to new effect can be tedious.
Also, If yes, will blender brushes be shareable in the community similar to procreate and photoshop brushes?
Thank you! Can't wait to see you in October!

Hey bro. Question. Ever since 2.8, everything that has anything to do with grouping objects together was replaced with collections. Now that Light groups are a thing, why aren't they based on collections like everything else? That's just weird. Why not make it consistent?
The workflow I imagine: You place all your lamps and emissive objects in a collection. You mark that collection as a Light group. And boom, ya have a light group. What's the downside of that?

That sounds nice, but on the other side, an interim addon for that should be easy to make- one that simply does the setup for you when you have a collection full of lights selected.

will there be object-fracturing with geometry-nodes one day?

Hi Pablo, what is the current workflow for using geometry nodes in the asset library and are any changes planned?

Hello pablo, in blender the camera resolution is set in the render settings, but I sometimes use a lot of cameras and I have an individual resolution for each one, why not move this setting to the camera settings tab? or create a function that will allow you to set the individual resolution of each camera and this setting will not swing other cameras in the scene

oi, Pablo! gonna throw some rather quick, hopefully simple questions at you!
is there any news on geometry nodes presets/premade node groups or possibly, dare I say, a direct way to share node groups as files? or are they assets in the asset browser? It can be a little clunky appending them from files manually. (maybe "bulk append" could be an addon to work on...) Ignore this (out loud for publicity's sake) if the asset browser is now to be used for materials and node groups!
also on that note, I may have asked already, but what is your take on having multiple solvers with overlapping uses in blender? powerful? better left to addons?
what are your thoughts on uber solvers like Vellum, that are inter-material and matter phase? how about mantaflow updates?
sorry about the potpourri questions, but I'm really curious about all these things, and had to miss the last three livestreams because of a new job! You make my week brighter. you once wondered why there's no native english version- It's because you're irreplaceable!

hey pablo
from my pov addons need more power from that I mean that blender addons must be given enough flexibility and strength to the point that you can add new systems to blender like a new physics system ,custom clay engine for sculpting or a custom unwrapping engine . this will decrease the amount of work the devs need to do because the community will already be working on future features as addons which would mean that blender updates will be smaller but the addons will be able to fill in that gap .

hey pablo will nurbs and curves modeling be worked on after 4.0 and will blender foundation add t splines, breps (solid modeling) and parametric cad modeling to blender and will cad and design become one of blenders focuses and what is the future of blenders physics and hair

a new cad addon has been released! it's super fancy, and I can imagine it getting supported because it's free, though I'm not sure on its dependencies (definitely feel free to support tho) and it seems parametric.

I know I love cad sketcher but I think blender should also try its hand in the cad and design category and new modeling systems like spline and breps too

that's probably best left to some geometry nodes! I'm sure it will be easy to set up when you have a great workflow set up!

Hi Pablo and Dalai.
Do you know if Ton got already a reply from Pixar about the new new bone-less character system by Pixar? Based on this: graphics.pixar.com/library/ProfileMover/paper.pdf
