Hello, Are there any plans for blender.community/c/rightclickselect/ZXbbbc/ ? Or any plans to use a new algorithm for cloth?

And can you ask sebbas if he had time working on the mpm solver? twitter.com/sebbas/status/1321371647014805506

I wish you the best.

I'm happy to finally see geometry nodes but would like to hear more about work being done to improve poly handling performance in Blender. Geometry nodes will be limited if it's easy to bog down Blender with medium to heavy scenes.

Hey Pablo, happy Monday!

I'm sure you know that light linking is in high demand by the community: developer.blender.org/T68915

Do you think this will be included in the Blender 3.0 release? Which developer can I bug to get this done?

HI Pablo how are you ?

Can you tell more about Pablo Dobarro Sculpt Branch ?

I am a little afraid about this, I have the impression that if everyone works on their Branch, it goes more slowly instead of working together.

Does that mean that the last experimental sculpting tools will no longer be on the Daily Builds? it seems weird to me, but maybe I'm wrong.

Hello pablo. Not a question, I just think that this suggestion is too good to be ignored. blender.community/c/rightclickselect/bghbbc/

Hello, Pablo! We all like how Blender is developing new features and stuff. But today I think that performance became one of main problems with succesfull blender adoption in different fields. Sculpting is slow compared to other soft, high poly editing in blender is slowest (and unusable) among all popular software. I think it would be cool if we will have one performance release of Blendr in future. Zero new features, zero changes in interface and all developers are working on performance issues in thei modules. Could it happen? Like 3.1 ? There were roadmap on highpoly fast editing and it was ignored by developers and they say that don't plan to work on it.

Hi Pablo - is there a way to set render settings per View Layer? For example if I want to always render one view layer with Eevee, and another with Cycles at 50% resolution, and another without motion blur?

Hey Pablo and Community, is it planned to add better automated retopology tools? Like this new Plugin does for ZB called "EazyRemesher ". It allows to paint the main topologyflow you want onto the mesh and it creates a very good and clean topology for the mesh. I really would like something like this being added to Blender it would really have a great impact on my Gameasset workflow.

Don't know if i can add a youtube link here so I just leave the video title: " EaZyremesh Tool! A retopology plugin for Zbrush "

And in production we just noticed that mirroring vertex group does mirror the weight painting to the other bone just fine but deletes it from the original vertex group like r.bone to l.bone but what do we do when we want it on both bones mirrored? There is no mirror+copy function. ^^

And Thank you for the amazing Softwre I look forward to future releases.

Geometry Nodes and E-Cycles

Hi Pablo!

About geometry node: if I spawn more transformation nodes I can instance new geometry to use in boolean operations.. but I can't see it nor I can set its appearance in someway (as a bounding box for example) to position the new geometry correctly. Will be there an option to do that?

About E-Cycles: I didn't had an idea about how it's actually fast and advanced, one of the main feature are light groups a really game-changer feature as shown in this video .

Why E-Cycles is so fast (..and expensive..)? Since Cycles is opensource I'm wondering why nobody has still developed those kind of optimizations, there some strange secrets?

* @Mille Porte * Its based on patches that are in the tracker but not yet in master. Most of it. There are a couple of performance patches and also that light group patch but for master they need that extra polish which nobody has made yet unfortunately.

Mille_Porte

* @SilaS * so the question is: E-Cycles worth the money if those updates are planned for Cycles?

Silas

* @Mille Porte * yes the main dev just got more time and they want to hire another just for cycles so i think in a year or so its up to that.

Hey Pablo! I have been playing with the Godot engine's new Vulkan based Rendered(still experimental) and it looks so good. The June 2020 roadmap showed that Vulkan was planned to be developed from 2.90. Are there any updates to it?

With friends, are we using the "Multi-user addon" and its amazing. But for better collaboration and version management are we looking for a Git for .blend files. It seems like Blender Studio use or used "Subversion". How is it done there? If you could point us to a tutorial or something, you would be even more awesome.

Hi Pablo! Only one question today :) About geometry nodes: Is possible to control the scale of the particles using the weight paint? I tried to do that last night and I fail because my math-nerd skills are nonexistent.

Hallo Pablo, I love Blender and al its potential. I was wondering if "Vertical Production" a topic is at the Blender Foundation. Blenders has a real-time nature and full production pipeline. It feels like a perfect fit. What I think is missing, is a real-time data input and communication. Do you know something like that, live video and audio in Blender? How is Vulkan coming along? Can we help, is there anything that can be crowd sourced?

Could you guys add preset "snap to" options?

hey Pablo. I am currently struggling with Luxcore Render in blender to get some interesting caustics to work, but luxcore is weird, are there any plans to give cycles better caustics render capabilities? It would be way easier to do it "inhouse"...

Hola Pablo! I wanted to ask about the relevance of multiple cores processors (like 16 cores). I have read in different groups/sites/comunities that for example 16-core AMD processors do not perform 100% in simulations. Leaving aside bottlenecks in hardware. What could be causing this? What processes, in addition to render, really benefit from multiple cores?

nuzzar

Pablo, are there any plan to implement the geodesic patch to other features? I don't know maybe something like connect vertex across surface or proportional editing.

Sorry, but one other thing. I noticed that the repeat command doesn't seem to work as intended because some of the commands that are not supposed to be remembered by the repeat command like 'deselect vertex' seems to be remembered by it. This makes the repeat command a little bit quirky. Are there any plan to improve this?

Cheers

Hey Pablo,

Today, i gonna be short. Do you take time to read the quesion of last week about Hans and his parametric sphere?

Question of the day 1: Do we have something like a displace modifier for rotate ? 2: I have at least one month by year for develop on blender.Do you have some initiation stage where i can learn your way to think the devellopement of the soft, something like a boot camp?

For some who have follow the base shape work : now you can do tetra, itetra, ptetra , triangle, itriangle, ptriangle, cube, cubet, pave, pyramid, ppyramid, penta, hexa, octo, ngone, sphere, cylinder, cone, pcone in a parametric way. File dispo here drive.google.com/file/d/1pTYFDrHBH-KaxU5Y_-daJ-lu0SDOtLme/view I don't have time to call AL-Kashi last week for the triangle and i have to divide by 2 the X for ngon e. Now you have double size of the X value. I gonna do that this week

Pixmation

Hey Pablo! How are you doing?

I wanted to know a little bit more about animation branch and about onion skinning and animatable parenting, its really hard to animate with onion skin and animatable parents hope to see more development in animation department.

Thank you!

stretch option does not work in ik constraint. it used to in the past. don't remember the version.please fix

Hello Pablo, im a subscriber to the blender cloud, and im very happy with it. I have a question, the director from the new blender open movie comes from outside the blender studio, is there plans to have a course from him? or perhaps a live stream with him? i would love a course regarding story, and since he was a story artist from pixar it would be amazing... keep up the great work.

Will it be possible to use boolean geometry node to operate on procedural geometry? Currently if you use a geometry output (for example from point instance node) as an input to the boolean node, the boolean node only uses base object geometry.

For example, add point distribute and point instance to default cube, and use the point instance output as the input to a boolean node. Instead of the boolean using the instance geometry, it uses the default cube geometry. This is both unintuitive and seemingly non-useful.

Not sure if you've seen, but the Entagma guys (mostly known for their high-level Houdini tutorials) have made a geometry nodes Blender tutorial. Cool to see members of other software communities showing an interest in the development, hopefully it continues! :) youtube.com/watch

Hey Pablo, what do you think about this proposal?: blender.community/c/rightclickselect/cfhbbc/ . It's about Having a root operation in the math node.
