Hello Pablo and thank you for one more Blender Today Live. My question today is regarding AI or ML training solutions in Blender. We have started to see very interesting and usefull solutions for Houdini and Maya using Machine Learning to train operations like upresing smoke simulations, rig skin deformation, amongst other interesting tools to help speed up and improve workflows. Is Blender development working or considering developing such ML training tools to allow the users or studios to train their own models to improve workflow?

Hey Pablo,

could you please tell me how to contribute a preview image for a detail page about an extension? For example this one: extensions.blender.org/add-ons/extra-mesh-objects/ I have opened a PR for the respective extension ( projects.blender.org/extensions/add_mesh_extra_objects/pulls/5 ), but I think this is not the same - or is it?

Thank you for your great work and keep it up.

Kind regards, Adam

Hello Pablo, since UV editing is getting some attention, would it be possible to get a new transform option check to quickly move and scale UVs in the 3D Viewport?

Moving of UVs is only on X and Y so it could just use the raw mouse motion and I would not need to have to open the UV editor for quick edits all the time.

It would be super useful for people like me who use Blender for 2.5D mesh animations and indie game devs doing level design.

Here is Legend64 pretending that it's possible by moving the UV editor out of the view: youtu.be/5FoHoXzaNng

Hello Pablo,

I have a question about the Cycles development. Is there any consideration of implementing DeepEXR support into Cycles render engine? I have noticed many requests on Right-click select for this feature.

For example this one: blender.community/c/rightclickselect/7n4w/

I think many VFX studios would benefit from this a lot.

Thank you very much for answer and for all your work. You guys are amazing.

Hello Pablo! The new volume nodes look very promising but i’m a bit concerned with what it means for the future of node based volume/fluid simulations, will blender ship with black box style compiled simulation solvers? Or will the solvers are built using the building blocks in geo nodes? I saw at bcon this was discussed briefly in the hair sim lecture.

Hi Pablo! Great Seeing there's even more animation-related features scheduled for Blender 5.1 already.

I wished to know, for example, in Unity's animation graph editor you can right-click the keyframe and manually select the interpolation mode (Linear, Constant, Bezier) towards the left or the towards the right of the keyframe. In Blender if I'm not mistake it always assumes it's to the right.

Any hopes we can get some form of this versatility in Blender's Graph editor too soon?

Thanks for the answer during the live Pablo! I'll check if it's solvable using the tips you gave, otherwise I'll elaborate on a feature request or bug report or something.

Hello, how are you today? Speaking of bringing things back. Now, when we have Storyboarding layout and this little narrow sequence editor (which is great for most of the time), it would be so nice to have an ability to quickly enlarge (stretch) the view and strips by Maximizing Area or entering Focus Mode instead of the new behavior. And if we are speaking of keeping strips tiny and narrow in Maximized View it would be cool to have backdrop which we unfortunately do not have anymore also. Backdrop would be especially handy while we do not have sequencer camera overlay yet.

P.S. keep reporting like it is my second job ☺️

Greetings Pablo!

I made this post months ago in Right-click select, but due to no activity XD, I think I'll just put it here to maybe grab you and the devs' attention.

Put basically, the "Everything You Need" section of the blender.org website features screenshots from a beta build of 2.80, released more than 6 years ago now. Are there plans to update them to feature newer versions with newer features?

blender.community/c/rightclickselect/Q5j0/

for QnA: are we getting an update on the USD or Alembic file type containing various attributes? specially simulations imported from houdini? right now we only get to use the Cd value mostly (including UV too), anything else gets ignored when imported in blender. getting to use those attributes in geometry node would feel like a blast.

Hi Pablo, about a month or two ago, I posted a question that seemed to be misunderstood. I wanted to ask about how texture painting will be improved and if it will be improved. Furthermore, I want to ask about texture paining projection onto the model. Specifically, like vertex painting in sculpt mode instead of view space. I REALLY want this feature because Blender is such a good role model for the industry. If not, would it be okay if you gave me some suggestions as to how to texture paint "the blender way"? thank you!
