Hi Pablo, there is discussions about add a feature to make linking files like .abc, .fbx or .usd ? And concerning camera imports, alembic don't take into account focal animations... There is some reports already, but still unsolve

Oi, Pablo! still watching the blendcon videos!

so excuse me if this was answered in them... but any updates on baking stuff? and on the same note, I'm still trying to figure out the best way to put a decal directly on a texture/texels using projection from an object to another to sort of "paint" it on... there are a lot of layout, UX questions to solve there... I'm terrible with code so it's probably a poor choice of study XD.

That, and I've heard whisperings of a "texture editor comeback"... is there some truth here? I know there's been a few talks about using it for various things like a separate editor for noises, or brushes...

Hey. please create a mode (e.g: for the tweak tool) to tweak the active element while preserving the current selection. Such a thing is very useful for modeling.

while selecting elements and noticing something that requires some tweaking, there's no easy way to preserve the selection and tweak it and return to that selection.

nubnubbud

right click select is for you! all jokes aside, a script to reselect a past selection wouldn't be too hard.

flowgun

I made an old Right-click select. A script to reselect past selection would require you to save the point at which to return, then you do your thing, then run another command to recall the selection... It's better to just hold a modifier if you want to tweak only what's under the mouse for example.

Hi! Maybe it is a random crazy question: Is there a way to change scene by markers? Like we do with cameras.

romboutv

@tche_adriano I believe you can do that in one of the editors. There you can actually link in scenes from other ot the same blend file. Check the Video Sequence > Add >Scene

FreeMind

Don't know if that's completely practical, but here's an idea:

Place all objects of each scene to master collections. In a new, empty scene, place a single object (A cube for example) Add a geometry nodes modifier to it. Replace the geometry with whatever master collection you want to display at a certain frame.

tche_adriano

It works, thanks, but it is a bit slow for real time playing even with a few simple objects in the scene.

tche_adriano

It works! Thanks! I have to enable each collection to edit something everytime, but it solves the problem with multiples scenes, and it runs smootly. changing scenes could still be better because it would change the HDRI and camera automaticaly.
