Hi Pablo! VSE 2.0 project has been in development for over 3 years. Not all checkboxes for it are finished, is the VSE 2.0 project over? And we don't see significant updates for VSE in a long time. Еhere are plans for changes in VSE? For example GPU rendering\viewport visualisation.

Hello from Santa Clause's country! I hope you are doing well. Then again, you always do. :-)

Now that Cycles has light linking, the only two big missing features for me are mip mapping, a must, and optimisation for volume rendering. Any developments on these?

Hola Pablo!!! Hope you are doing great!

Just a few quick questions

1- The new hair system, when will it have dynamics (physics)?

2- Those geometry nodes presets for the hair, thar are on the asset browser, shouldn't it be better to have those presets directly in the modifier (to add like any other modifier), so they are easier and faster to add?

3- Will the cloth physics be improved? Because as far as I know it is not possible for two different cloth objects to interact with each other.

Thank you for the directs!!!

Hey Pablo, how's it going?

This isn't a question, but i would like to share some stuff to the Blender community. Bungie (creator of Halo, Destiny) is using Blender as a part of their asset creation workflow for their new game Marathon, link - twitter.com/xanzuls/status/1664328552542609408 Video Link - youtu.be/Zrv0dpztryY . Nice to see Blender being used in big productions as well.

Also, have you seen the Blender Today parody made by Blender Bob? It's pretty hilarious; youtu.be/8DLRCHiHINI

Hello Pablo! Relatively recent changes to vertex paint within sculpt mode makes it really fast and one thing that would be really welcomed is Multires support. I've only seen one topic about this which is from a really long time ago and now it seems more relevant than before with the sculpt mode integration. I just wanted to bring this into light again! blender.community/c/rightclickselect/Tsbbbc/

Hi, will there be one day another code-quest or such design/feature event ?

I feel a real lack of big-data/massive editing/rendering of large data (either point cloud or mesh) with optimization such as real implementation of LOD/HLOD, geometry clustering like nanite for example, or best tiled mesh using format OGC 3D Tiles file format which become standard for large scene or to stream only required tiles in a google-earth style.

Hi Pablo, great stuff coming for 4.0. Just being through the goals of development and was wondering if improvements in the render pass system and overrides (like shader overrides) are being considered in the near future.

Cheers

Hi, you are awesome! Blender weekly is awesome!

The Snap Base is a good start but I honestly don't know why Blender doesn't also have Custom Snaps? For example if you have a Pipe Fitting Tee asset then why can't you have a custom snap on each of the 3 connections? I come from the world of Revit and it seems nuts that you can't do this and only have the Pivot of an asset to work with.

Hola Pablo,

Regarding the new "Corners of Edge" node, I did a demo video in the pull request, it shows how it can be used: projects.blender.org/blender/blender/pulls/107968

oi, pablo!

I was curious, now that 4.0 is out (already made a cool shape generator™ with the new tools) what we're doing about texturing and maps and baking? I might even say another live action, like Tears of Steel would be a good candidate for another open movie. It would push the modernization of the VFX tools(having multiple tracks in one scene is quite cumbersome), lots of high quality textures would need baking, and sims like soft muscles and some better rigid body code would be very welcome!

also is the pattern for blender opendata that only full versions are available? still eager to see how the various raytracing hardware architectures line up.
