Show available attributes in attribute node.
I think it would be really useful to see a list of all available attributes instead of always guessing the names of the attributes.

In my Google Summer Of Code project, I added a Vertex Color node and a Volume Info node. So as Jason suggested, those two nodes expose the information that you would want from the Attribute node, which makes the Attribute node useless for now. See this weekly report .
* @Omar Ahmad * Awesome! This node has always been a little confusing to me, so I'm glad to hear it was made easier.
* @Omar Ahmad * Is the forced color management still in the vertex color node? Please see my Right Click Select post about the issue. Thanks. While you're at it, take a look at this one, too: Vertex Group in attribute node
Thanks for all you've done for Blender!
Perhaps, but if attributes were in a list, then why not make a separate node or socket for them?
I kind of think that the whole attribute node thing feels like a kludge and should be rethought in general.
* @Jason van Gumster * a lot of things can be attribute. Quantity of Vertex colors or UVs can be big, and it will look awfull with bunch of sockets. It is advanced node, same as script. And it is okay as it is I think. But i am ready to read your opinion.
* @Jason van Gumster * Kludges are good. They're how you make things work the way they're supposed to instead of how the programmer thought they should.
The shader nodes really need more of this sort of "pop the hood" utility, so frustrating when I know what needs to happen and there's no way to force that.
The animation nodes project is a great model for that, lots of ways to bash together weird stuff when you need it- for instance a while back I used it to cobble together a function for passing position information between frames for a complicated dynamic rig. Inefficient as hell but it got the job done, which is all I cared about.
* @jde.scorpion451 * We have different definitions of the word "kludge".
The Attribute node is exactly the sort of thing programmers like to add in order to provide flexible low-level access to specific features.
Happy Birthday. I have a question regarding de noise filter in compositor. Is there a way to choose the de noise method used by the filter "as is used by composite nodes". Preferences? Thank you
I agree, it's really hard finding a true list of attributes, and not all exist in the UI.
