Ability to copy pixels to clipboard from Image Editor
Sometimes you just want to copy the contents of the render window and paste them into Gimp or a website like BlenderArtists or Discord that allows pasting pixels from clipboard to upload an image.

what I really miss is the other way around: paste into image editor!
* @ Lsscpp * yes but history shows us that any major development in some areas of blender just isn't going to happen any time this half-decade so I'm limiting my requests to what might potentially be the least amount of developer work.
blender don't have man power for this, otherwise it would be implemented already. even the most simple image editors out there have this feature. its time to start hiring more devs
Screenshot utilities aren't cutting it anyway, as most of the time they only capture what's visible on screen. But with renderings or textures your view is often larger than what your screen can display. In 3dsmax VRay's render framebuffer allows you to copy its full content to the clipboard with just the click of a button, and it doesn't matter if the image is larger than your screen, is zoomed in or where it's scrolled (and since we are mostly collaborating via Discord, pasting a rendering into the chat window is mandatory. So, a 1:1 pixel copy-to-clipboard option for Blender would be great.
* @jan_hofmeister * I just did a large render and blender crashed trying to save the png file. I had to render it again and blender crashed trying to save the png file again. I had to take screenshots section by section and paste them into chat so I could get them on my other computer that has photoshop. Assembled them in photoshop and saved the png that way. I suspect blender would not crash if it had the ability to copy all the pixels to the clipboard so I could have pasted the full image into another program.
old dream....

On the Windows platform we can now copy and paste to/from clipboard in the Image Editor. projects.blender.org/blender/blender/pulls/105833
(Upvoted) It would be nice to copy the image in the render window, but may I suggest as a workaround that there are some great free and O/S screen capture utilities around (Like Greenshot for instance) that can fill this need.
* @ammusionist * I know. But all the web browsers and photoshop and other image editors let you copy the pixels straight to the clipboard and paste them elsewhere. In windows 10 you have winkey+shift+s and in mac os you have ctrl+command+shift+4 and then there are various screenshot apps but the programs I use most often (photoshop and web browser) have much more user-friendly right-click copy.
