Circular Array Modifier (spin in mod form)
Basically my proposal is exactly as it sounds. A modifier that more or less does the same thing as spin, but is non destructive and adjustable.
Right now the only option we have is to use the normal array modifier and a curve modifier, but that means things get bent and stretched.

This is a v1.0 feature as far as I'm concerned. It's astonishing to me that this does not exist after 30 years of development by some extremely talented people.
This is possible using an object to offset the array. (no curve required).
@Campbell Barton:
Yes, it's possible to solve the way that you are describing. However as a modeler it's very important to work as fast as possible. If I have multiple objects in the scene using a radial array, it gets a bit cumbersome to handle multiple empties that controls the rotation offset combined with array count on each array modifiers array count.
I wrote a proposal here (google doc) docs.google.com/document/d/1vP4v8AgVGi2mn4aO6EgG3CNCyWDudTg6KklDiabY-gs/edit

* @Campbell Barton * You've shut it down here and on dev without a real reason beyond "This is already possible", even though it's been requested heavily. Maybe give it some real thought? A one-button solution would be a great timesaver.
maybe the devs aren't as skilled as wed like to think they are, maya, 3ds max and rhino all have a radial array, funny how blender doesn't, but it does have lots of fanboys making excuses tho, so that's something.
Marking this as Done, since it was implemented in Blender 5.0
if you don't want get bent or stretch, you can use the parent duplication, and the blender support one point object, so it's easy for use, and you can use the particle too.
