RCS | Use Search Before Writing!!!

What the problem

People don't want to use search before writing new suggestions (use their head, as expected) .

What proposed

Add big simple text as background reminder for such kinds of people with words "USE SEARCH BEFORE WRITING!!!" (at this point, I think nothing else will work, ever...)

PS. Maybe it even need to add some link to GIF instruction how to use search for rare "special cases".

We've just added a big bright notice to people when it's their first time posting on RCS img

We are planning to introduce mark as duplicate (with link to the post) soon.

Would it help to have the title field suggest existing posts as you type?

Like on devtalks or so... yeah, maybe. But:

  • Such system implementtaion is not some "few rows of code" . What I propose - simplest.
  • Topics on RCS often named in not the best way - in this circumstances such system will work same "not the best" .
  • Today RCS server work noticeable slow. Such system may work slow as ***. Imagine it try to show u possible something for name Inverted green channel normal node for directx normals when older/more votes topic named Add "Invert Green Channel" Option Checkbox to Normal Map Node . Best key word for search here "green" , I just see it, because I am human... Will any auto system works same fine?
  • Word "gren" give less search results (3 only) , but not the topic with more votes. One that have more votes named Invert R, G or B channel in Normal Map node where no word "green" , better to search here "invert" which give 12 results. Again - people name topics in not the best way...
  • Finally - IMO, remind users to use search functionality on their own will grow kinda "personal responsibility" of their own topics.

What if there was an area that automatically searches for existing propopsals, based on what you write in the text box?

I just commented 3 duplicates during past hour... here , here and here . Each case - newbie with first topic. We need some solution for this.
