I just wanna ask you guys to stop the witch hunt! blender.community/c/rightclickselect/3Zfbbc/
Hi pablo, i wish i could know a bit more about blender moving to vulkan.
How is going the development? how much time you think is going to take? And how you think vulkan will improve blender as a whole.
How do you think vulkan is going to change the user's preference over hardware for working with blender?
Hey Pablo, loving these videos!
What's the status of node-based modifiers/node-based modeling? What version is it currently planned to be included in? As someone who likes to avoid destructive modeling as much as possible, this may be the single feature I am the most excited for, by far.
* @christsdude * afaik Jaq is now working on particle nodes and after that he will work on geometry nodes when? you could only guess, i would bet it would be no no sooner than next year
You can now read design: Geometry Nodes Design

Blender can be a staple in the mograph community, but it seems like mograph tools are low on the dev priority list (the text object, for example) - what is the best way to communicate to blender developers the features we want to receive attention?
* @davidsikes * I agree, though animation nodes are very powerful they’re tricky to use compared to mograph and lack the central Blender development that gives confidence to build a graphics pipeline on.
For people new to Blender: What is the best way to participate and contribute to the blender project instead of just complaining or asking for features?
* @davidsikes * and saying development fund doesn't count! xD
* @davidsikes * I guess, testing alpha and beta releases from here will be quite helpful. There also is a nice video on the topic of reporting bugs : youtube.com/watch
* @davidsikes * Improving on and contributing to the documentation pages (see my comment (far) below).
HI,
Do you know if the subdivision improvements include adaptive subdivision, and when will it leave the experimental feature set? It has been there for a long time.
Hello Mr.P if the blender fund was twice as big what projects could start now that are currently not in the works due to funding E.g - Light Linking maybe?
Im an architect who switched to blender 3 months ago and I'm enjoying every minute of it 😁 , my question is what are the best addons for architects workflow, i found ''cad transformations'' its amazing , i just want more advices for the archviz workflow ^^ The question is for Pablo and who every saw my question ^^ . linktr.ee/one_raw_artist
* @iheb.graffiti * i was just scrolling around YouTube as i often do and came across a video that looks like its one of four videos.
I've not watched it yet but it made me think of your post. I hope this helps you out.

Hi Pablo,Hope you are well! is there a reason we don't see many plugin developers write new modifiers for blender? coming from other 3D software we see a lot of custom modifiers made, but i never see any new modifiers developed outside of the blender team? And can we expect this to change in the future?
* @jaylukeherbert * If I'm not mistaken (and I fear I'm not), add-ons (python) can't be used to write modifiers. This is an architectural thing. So, if you want to write a new modifier, you'll have to make changes to the Blender source code. And that will make updates and distribution a little difficult. (Unless you are willing to fork Blender.)
As I'm a great fan of using modifiers myself, I too, would like to see a way of creating new modifiers in a more plugin like fashion. That would probably spark some external development efforts in that area. :-) And it would allow for the creation of modifiers, which may be of interest to a certain group of users, but too specialized to become part of Blender.
* @Helge * Yes, for example, I have been experimenting with the plugin Bevel after Boolean ( BAB ) it is a plugin like mesh fusion , it has its limitations because it is a plugin and not a modifier. having custom made modifiers would open up a whole new world of community dev development
* @jaylukeherbert * There is community (or rather one determined person) project who want to create kind of API for modifiers that could be interchangeable between programs and its also GPL compatibile.

Hello Pablo. :) I'm struggling with animating property of enabling/disabling visibility of the Collections. Do you think is there way animate hide/show huge amount of objects at the same time? Thanks. blender.community/c/rightclickselect/VMfbbc/
Hi Pablo. In a previous live stream you floated the idea of remapping the view pie menu away from the tilde key, something that I’d like to see change as a default. Is there any further thought on this, the number keys in object mode and changing the viewport colours in edit mode that was also mentioned?
Hello sir pablo it is possible to bring back this helpful feature in blender. in active element pivot point in edit mode, you can deselect a edge or face but keep it as active element for orientation?
blender.stackexchange.com/questions/112754/is-it-possible-to-deselect-element-but-keep-it-active
Hi Pablo, if I saw a really great open source paper for a new real time physics simulation system for example. What would be the best route of getting it into blender quickly? I'm thinking of maybe using kickstarter to hire devs, but then I'm worried I might get thousands of pledges only for it to be rejected by Blender. What's your advice?
Hello Mr Pablo.
I'd like to know a bit more about particle nodes.
Is the goal to enable users to re-create any of blender and other software's functionality entirely with nodes. Advanced users using the low level nodes that are visual representations of the C/C++ Blender functions (plus logic,variable/attribute creation/error hadnling/IO etc), to create more high level nodes for the community to use as part of their own shareable node trees.
I think this approach would be great, as the node trees could also be compiled when not being edited, allowing for C++ execution speeds and parallel processing. Plus Jacque wouldn't have spend so much time re-creating existing functionality, because the nodes would be low level enough for the community to do it.
What's the current design for sharing node trees? Will it be something like a group node, but with the ability to expose ANY of the contained tree's parameters? This would be great, because when sharing complex nodes the user would only have to concern themselves with a few settings and what goes in and out of it.
Hello Pablo, why aren't Amazon and Tesla joining the Blender development fund? They are making so much money with their shit! Can you poke Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk?
* @momotron2000 * They are not interested in 3d. Those are companies, if they wont benefit from that, they wont do that. It might unlineley be possible for Tesla/Musk if they were interested in using Blender.
But not for Amazon/Bezos. He is known for abusing others and not helping them out freely. It is more likely that they will buy/develop their own DCC than invest in Blender.
Actually his girlfriend (+ mother of their son, you might know), Grimes and her team (mostly brother mac-boucher.com/ ) use Blender for the CG stuff in their music videos. Unluckily they removed the livestream with some Blender BTS they did few months back. The only thing I've found for now: reddit.com/r/blender/comments/dv8uzi/grimes_seems_to_be_using_blender_for_her_upcoming/
* @SciVfx * best part today: youtu.be/SlB2S54pa9I someone needs to tweet to Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos xD
Hello, how are you today?
I recently found a bug in blender that is a useful feature, however it is still a bug and needs to be fixed. How should I go reporting it so It can be added as a feature, Right-Click Select, devtalk, normal bug report? I live in the USA, which has very different time zones form Europe. The bug is in mantaflow, specifically the particle system side.
Thanks
* @reston.stanton * Has this bug already been reported ? If it has, maybe you could join the discussion there in order to prevent the 'feature' from getting lost when fixing the bug. At least you could present your view on this - and the developers would notice.
HI Pablo, do you know the shortcut for color picker in vertex color (for grease pencil 2.90 ) I don't think it's exist ? I can't find him
Hi Pablo. What's your opinion on Rhombus nodes? :D
Is there any chance that blender could incorporate The Outline Node by Miguel Pozo into blender eevee and cycles?
sample w/ suzane: twitter.com/pragma37/status/1268309790750474241
cool render he did with the node: twitter.com/pragma37/status/1255621814979571712/photo/1
Miguel has it available for free but it requires installing a unique build of blender (similar to HeavyPoly blender). seems like something that could be easily incorporated into the main build and turn alot of heads for 2.9 release! this would go a lonnnnng way to helping me with the style of work i like to do!
one thing i am confused about is what makes outline nodes in eevee so hard. even LANPR has to be used separately, and not combined til later in compositor. This Outline Node seems PERFECT solution to freestyle render layer over freestyle objects because it is making freestyle for geometry behind and ignoring that there is grease pencil interrupting it.
* @sfriedlander * the patch alone is here developer.blender.org/D7270
Recently I was looking to see if it was possible to time remap the whole scene in blender and I know blender has the time remapping feature but you cant keyframe it, the only other way I discovered is you have to put your scene into the video sequence editor but you can only do this if you duplicate your scene (think thats a bug) and then add a speed control strip. To me this feels clunky there are addons that allow you to animate time remap within the layout panel and graph it within the graph editor but they are old, just wanted to know if this was something you guys have thought of adding?
Will Blender ever allow unlimited N-gon Holes on N-gon faces? Compared to Sketchup, where you can place a window in a wall without the need for extra edges, this has always bothered me in Blender. Been waiting for that ever since B-mesh was a thing. Should really make modeling feel less restrictive, also help A LOT with Boolean workflows.
* @visprotis * But does Sketchup really cut geometry without extra edges or they are simply hidden?
* @Mille Porte * What's going on under the hood is Irrelevant. What's important is the user experience.
* @visprotis * maybe, but unlikely in near feature.
Quote of question:
and answer from Howard Trickey
Blender has been freezing every three seconds and I tried two computers because I thought it might be my software that I just downloaded and I still have this issue is there any issues that are being worked on.
how blender 2.83 is better than 2.8.....?
Hi Pablo, at the moment we have 2.83 LTS, 2.90 and 2.91 in development. When a bug got fixed in 2.83 is this fixed in 2.90 and 2.91 automatically?
Hey pablo! I'm addicted to blender today. How do you prefetch scene strips? "Prefetch frames" doesn't appear to fetch scene strips :) Thank you!
Hi, Having massive trouble with FFmpeg colour accuracy - only AVI Raw and png render colours properly - the rest are useless - mp4, mov etc. Trying to counteract this with 'use curves' but it's really tricky (pretty impossible) to match. Various threads have mentioned a fix with FFMPEG CLI (YUV conversion) but can this be inserted to Blender so we don't even have to bother with this?
Hi Pablo! Are there plans to fix Mantaflow bugs in 2.9? I tried using the Khaos plugin in 2.83, it didn't render properly. Looked into it, seems some people are noticing Mantaflow rendering bugs since 2.83. Thanks for all the hard work Blender team, you guys rock)

Are we going to see Clippy added to Blender now?
I just wanted to say that I like everything and hope that Nvidia and AMD will send you some hardware before the public release.
When will there be a Live in Blender Hoy?
Hey Pablo! Love the streams! I don't have a question, I just wanted to wish you a good day.
A Wonderfull Show!
Hi Pablo.
Would it be a good idea to have only one node editor, instead of world editor, shader editor, particle editor, texture nodes etc, and then inside that one node editor you could have different top level nodes which house the different types of trees. For example a world node, shader node, particle node, compositor node, texture node etc.
Then once inside that node, the shift + a would list the relevant nodes only. You could also pass the output of a compositor node into the input of a texture node for example (controlling the order of operation).
Hi Pablo. Opinions about'Texture data-block'. I would like to be able to directly import the image from the brush texture or move directly to the place where the image is handled. The current method requires a lot of manipulation. Reference image mongpic.blog.me/222047648423
And when drawing a 4k picture in the Image Editor, it works so slowly that it is hard to draw. I would be grateful if you would be interested in this too. I always cheer for Blender. And thank you.
Is there any plan for allowing the industry-standard navigation with the blender mapping? That would be ideal as I want to use the Blender shortcuts but I use the other navigation like in any other DCC I also use.
Hi Pablo, first of all i really enjoy blender ! 3d is fun again ! I got a question about physics simulation. Do you know anything about Fracture Modifier being developt for 2.8/2.9 ? It would be great !
Hey Pablo, can you make a Blender Everyday with the guy from Blender NPR? They work on a render engine for stylized rendering!
Hi Pablo, and Dalai (if he is on-line with you today), how are you?
Technical question: What do you think about this idea: make progress rendering by just repeating a traditional tiled render on lower sample-count multiple times. Should be easy to implement.
Why it might be needed: well, users could see the first pixels of their renders much faster, and make a decision much earlier.
* @damian winnichenko * it would affect performance or performance and RAM (you would lose time on switching tiles and combining balfrendered tiles, and ram on half baked tiles)
Hey! Would love to know if motion blur in eevee is going to be back on the viewport at some point since its gone in the latest 2.90 patch. Also, is there ever going to be a seperate screen space global illumination feature coming. right now you can kind of imitate with with a seperate glossy shader but itd be an amazing feature since its so fast in eevee
Hi Pablo,
Vaughan Ling and you liked this proposal in his livestream interview:
StylusUX - pressure sensitive & pen-optimized interface elements & tools
Is there a chance to implement it in the near future? Who would be interested to do the coding?
A Blender.Today dedicated to UI/UX would be great.
Thanks!
Hello! Any news or updates on the revision process and possible implementation schedule for Shader Node Additions, and particularly the Hexagon texture node ( developer.blender.org/D6410) Thank you!
Is there a way to improve the official Blender documentation? The Blender docs are not optimal. I have written some entries recently and can see several reasons: the writing/submitting process is difficult, the structure of the docs and the formal rules around it are strict, for each new Blender version the docs are regenerated, ...
If we only could reallocate 1% of all the community effort (tutorials, ...) to the documentation, it would be the most extensive, in depth documentation of any software product today. Some suggestions: lower the entry/learning curve, eventually by replacing the old system with something new (eg Wikipedia-kind), actively promote and invite YouTuber's to contribute, 1 doc set per LTS with "What's new" kind of docs for the intermittent versions, ...
Pablo, couldn't you take some initiative in this matter?
Hi, thanks blender team for all your work, you are the bright light in 2020.
Will we get any new features/changes to camera tracking/vfx part of the blender? maybe better auto mode (it's only "auto detect features" and it's not work very well). everyone happy that this tracker exist (basically it's only free option rn), but no new features/improvements.., I hope to see any changes that make it better.
And the worst part for me: last movie with using trackers was "Tears of Steel" (2012), 8 years ago.. I hope to see more here and new content with it in blender cloud.
Hi Pablo, I wanted to know when fast mouse/pen movement will be fixed in paint, sculpt mode. Right now when you paint fast you get jaggy lines and increasing input samples will lag. There is a developer thread here explaining but seems like it's not fixing and it has been from the beginning . I force to paint on other applications. here is the thread: developer.blender.org/T70765
Will there be any chance to add virtual acoustics systems inside of blender? I understand it's quite selfish, and I would like to apologize if you felt uncomfortable about this, but I like the plug-in for software like Unity called "dearVR" performs pretty good sound reflections on objects, such as walls. So I think blender will get even better if you could add some audio support like this for the new blender's VR feature's enhancements, or other purposes.
Here's the link to the demo (headphone recommended):
youtube.com/watch Website: dearvr.com/
have you checked on BEER? another renderer but this one is based on non-photorealistic renders, it got line suport not too long ago; also how is LANPR doing? in which version would you say gets implemented? 3.0?
Heo brother! How r u? Thank u for making this application free and save my life <3 ! Are u guys thinking about some features like built-in body motion capture and facial capture(blend shape) from webcam or kinect? It will be really helpful!
Hi and thank you so much for your frequently Updates.
One Question: I am waiting for just one feature since years. The distributed Rendering Feature. Are there any Updates?
Best reguards, Tilation
Hi, Pablo. Hope you're well.
Do you guys thinking on any interface update? I'm trying to say you guys made a big interface update on Blender 2.8 before that Blender 2.7 had a different interface. Do you guys thinking of any interface update like that?
* @xenon4201 * Interface is constantly changing. see: 2.90 UI Release notes
But I wouldn't expect that as big changes in near feature, as it was in 2.7x to 2.8x.
Hi Pablo! I really would like to be part of the Blender Cloud but the only two ways for subscription (credit card & Paypal) are not possible for me. I got a bank saving account which I've used for paying on line through wire transfer, PSE platform, and so on. Is there another way within my reach?
