Hi Pablo, It is good to see that you is back, and I hope you have a great day. The options to change the color on the Face orientation is added 2.82, you didn't say that in last week, and here are my question:

Any update on the assets manager for Blender?

* @DeadDragon * It looks like it will be postponed again. See developer.blender.org/D6307 It seems like developers can't reach agreement on some basic concepts of Asset Manager.

Hi again Pablo, any news on better uv features coming? and adding the edge slide feature to be able to use the snapping system?

Cheers.

Why aren’t the autokeying ,graph editor and keying sets simplified in Blender? why can't they be made to work like in any other 3D Animation software especially for people who wants thinks to work straight up without fiddling with the settings all the time...I had a conversation with some users who tried to help but in the end it's how Blender does things by default.

blenderartists.org/t/why-arent-the-autokeying-graph-editor-and-keying-sets-simplified-in-blender/1201979

I know you guys don't have a full team working on Animation tools but at least the basic concepts should work similar to other softwares .

Hi Pablo, is there any plan to improve the performance of texture viewer and texture painting for hires texture? Currently blender when displaying hires texture in UV editor say (10K x 10K) the UV editor become very slow. Also for texture painting when painting texture with resolution more than 2K blender starting to lag.

Thanks

Hey Pablo, are you planning new UV's features like that I have listed?

  1. Texel density tool
  2. Aling multiple uv edge, like here blender.community/c/rightclickselect/0Zdbbc/

Thank you

is possible to add a feature to save all the render passes separately each one in a image for post production on gimp or photoshop? There is a turnarround to do that but it is really hard for new user to do.

Great to have Pablo back! and the Blender Team moving forward, 2020. The NPR Line Rendering solution needs to be resolved. Freestyle has potential, but it is slow, post-process, and 'crashes' on hair, leaves, fur, grasses (particle systems) and doesn't like larger projects. It doesn't allow 'tiling' solutions for big projects as it requires building a full map before rendering. LANPR is languishing, few commits or progress, and only builds to Blender 2.82.4, missing some of the latest fixes, and crashes also. Anime, Illustration, Animation await a Blender solution! Please?

* @Paul Hartsuyker * also cant work if camera is animated

hey pablo just wanna ask if cosmos 2 gonna be a fully featured movie and if so is it gonna be open

Why Blender is not been updated in the Windows Store?

Once OpenXR is fully implemented. Is there a plan on implementing a voxel/sdf type tech similar to Oculus Medium (Adobe now)?

Hello Pablo, wanna ask about hair creation in blender.

I think blender should fix curve guide in particle hair, because we have to make it with force field, why don't we had it in hair particle settings? And I think it's hard to control with radius only. it;'s better to use vertex weight/texture mask,

Generate hair from curves as guide would be easier than combing, and we can apply soft body / dynamic to curve guide to have better performance,

Terima Kasih Pablo

Any updates on the boolean rewrite? ( developer.blender.org/T67744 ) Blender's fragile handling of booleans is currently the largest barrier to using Blender for CAD type things because you can't just "jiggle" a solid to fix a boolean if what you are modeling needs to be precision.

Hello Pablo.

Any plans to improve weight painting, new algorithm, loop selection for verts., percentage presets for vertex groups..etc this will improve the workflow tremendously.

In the Past few weeks I have been learning rigging in Blender , no much recent learning materials but it was fun. are there any plans to expand beyond Constraints,Drivers.....?

the Armature modifier is extremely slow if you use it on high res mesh so maybe a better solution or introducing deformers on GPU.

And will Eevee get realtime displacements & tesselation in the viewport ?

Hello, Pablo, I want to ask about the Everything Nodes. In terms of modeling nodes, which of the two addons will more likely be merged into the main branch? Sorcar or Sverchok? Another thing, one of the main developers of the Sverchok addon, zeffii, said,

"I was discouraged by the announcement of 'Everything Nodes'. It seems like it would be redundant to have multiple node systems with overlapping functionality."

Is that going to be the case?

Also I am still waiting for the feature of adding modifiers to a collection level or something similar to a collection. I know that because one object can be in multiple collections at the same time and that makes it sort of messy, but I am just being optimistc and looking forward to it.

Hi Pablo! How was your vacation? I moved to London to work and live right between the last two Blender Live shows! Yaaay! Congratulations with Blender 2.83 Alfa! My questions this time are:

  1. It might be annoying to hear over and over again, but when we could get VDB import/export support in Blender? Is it even scheduled?

  2. It is a little annoying that the rigid body needs the mesh origin to be always in the geometric centre. Otherwise, a collision shape positioned wrong and gives glitchy simulations. Could we have custom collision shapes for the rigid body?

  3. Why Bone studio custom build has its own delicious VDB remesh modifier, but Blender master build doesn't? =(

Thanks a lot!

Hello Pablo ,Dalai. What is the roadmap for 2020? is it to focus on finishing other projects while making a short movie or adding new big projects like everything nodes, animation and asset manager?

Dalai is in the Direct in Spanish?

Hi Pablo, using the new voxel remesher, is there a good way of resymetrising your mesh if needed? I couldn't see one, and when you are working with something really dense, it's not fun to go into edit mode and manually mirror the mesh to fix it. If there isn't, should I log a bug for a feature request? Or is there another place to submit feature requests? Thanks for your great work :).

Hy Pablo,

Question/suggestion

The possibility of a button that maps the viewport button Hold (Orbit, Pan, Zoom) from middle mouse button to the Right mouse button, similar to how the "Left/Right mouse button select swap" is implemented while still keeping the Right click for context menu

My original threat/suggestion for more indepth with a mock-up picture : Link

PROCEDURAL MODELING

Hi Pablo!

Animation Nodes, Sverchock, Sorcar (the more intuitive one, in my opinion), Everythings Nodes, Function Nodes...

Can you finally help us to come clean along all this projects, do you know which, amog them, will be the final framework for procedural modeling in Blender?

Sverchock is the one with a more low level approach (and in theory more powerful even if far less intuitive). Will it be integrated in the final solution or will remain a separate project?

Bonus question: when creating a rigid body I noticed that an option is missing: initial velocity. Did I miss it or it is a lacking feature?

I have a question. I have a GTX 1060 6G, and when I render with the GPU option, I go to the taks manager in Windows and it only shows like is using 2-15% (most of the time less than 5%) of the graphics card. Is this normal?? My CPU is AMD. Version of blender 2.81a.

TargetCrafter

Hi Pablo,

Will there be presets for the new mantaflow fluid simulations with materials, viscosity and other fluid settings? Or is this part of the asset manager?

Zucchini

Hi, sorry if this has been asked already, but are there plans for a proper EEVEE toon shader? A lot of my friends in the NPR community are dying for it, and think that if implemented, it could become an industry standard for CG anime production. Not sure personally how doable a toon shader is, but I'm just passing on the message. Hope you're doing well :^)

Hi Pablo, playback with the subdivision modifier (shape or bones animated) in 2.8 is much slower than in 2.79. Will the performance be improved in 2.83?

tantedante

is there any info about the svg vector import to grease pencil? when i tried it in 2.82 it was rather faulty... it would be awesome for all who are interested in doing 2D motion design animations...

Hello. During the blender conference, I learned that Blender does have a Level-of-Detail system, but that is not so apparent, it is kinda hidden under the hood. My question is, if there is a plan for developing a interface for it? So it is easier to use it like UE4.

For large scenes it is going to be a great addition!
