Editable motion path

I know, I know... It might be like a dream that doesn't come true... My idea is that animating things like flying objects or modifying movement... will be easier than before (less need for a graph editor). My idea is as follows:

1- Put the keyframes at the right times and make a simple animation

2- In the motion path menu, there should be a motion path edit button and a transparent motion path will appear for editing.

3- Motion editing is like curves, but there is no permission to add or delete keyframes, only change the curve.

4- Press the update button to update the motion path and graph editor

Yeah this would be really cool and apreciated but I think it even was a part of the new animation system overhaul. I still upvote it for visibility and support that this should not be a forgotten feature, if possible. :)

Thank you for your opinion... The truth is, I did not know about this plugin and I had been editing with Blender's default tools for years.❤

First, there is a payed addon called MotionTrail3D that handles this blendermarket.com/products/motiontrail3d

Second, I agree it would be great to have editable motion paths natively in blender. To a degree you can already do this. I believe as long as you don't don't add or remove keyframes, generated motion trail in Blender will auto-update generated motion trail without the need to regenerate it.

Lastly, while I would like to have editable motion path, I don't think your suggestion of implementation is the best approach, but I think this is definitelly something for debate. Furthermore I heard devs are working on redesigning animation system, so I believe this would be also something they might be discussing currently, but that is just my humble guess.

Thanks for bringing this up tho, I'd really love to see editable motion path in native Blender, along with some retiming features. Like imagine if you could "scale" timing of keyframes while on 3D motion trail or slide the positions along motion trail. I think that would be amazing.

Thank you very much for your opinion... I hope Blender achieves its best goals in the future...

Edit: Belender will auto update motion paths only if "automatic keying" is toggled and you adjust your keys directly from viewport. Othervise update has to be done manually
