make "Only - Selected Object" on by default in alembic export
Surely a minor detail, but could we please have "Only - Selected Object" on by default in alembic export? 99% of the times one doesn't want to have the whole scene in a single abc file... also if you forget to turn it on you have to export again....
This idea was marked as a duplicate of Export Selection Only on by default in 2.8.

The amount of times I’ve had to force quit blender because it was trying to bake my entire scene to alembic is frightening.
Same issue with other exporters, "selected only" should be on by default. Exporting whole scene by mistake wastes more user time than exporting empty scene by mistake.
The selected only option should indeed be the default, and how many times have I forgotten it... It annoys me to repeat the same mistake every two months or so, and to have to kill the blender task instead of exporting the holey scene.

There is even a patch from Jan 17 2020 that is still in need of review developer.blender.org/D6616
Anyone knows since the developpers.blender.org become archive.blender.org if we can still access the topic in "Need Review" inside the new project.blender.org Gitea ?
It's been 3 year the patched linked in the comment above is in review process, how long does that usually takes ?
