I'd give you one further: A lot of rendering settings should just go into Camera data settings tab, and that's it. Including resolution, exposure, motion blur, and so on and so on...
From a real camera point of view, I can agree with you, but I think effects like DOF, Motion Blur (quite an heavy effect), Color Management, etc., are kept in Render Properties for being able to see them in Viewport and not just when looking through camera, or F12 renders. Plus, some of them like Motion Blur (and Bloom in Eevee) can be quite taxing on your compute device, and should be used diligently. And it’s usually better to add effects like motion blur and others via separate passes in compositing.
Well, the viewport camera should have its own settings. Though, note that such settings like motion blur and resolution don't make sense for the viewport camera. Whether or not to add heavy effects during rendering or before is still completely up to you, whether it's a global setting or a by-camera setting.
Technically, Motion Blur and Exposure belong to Camera, but I think they’re kept in Render Properties from artists’ needs and UI stand point.

seems like a very popular feature that the users are requesting. it's still not available in blender 4.2, and i'm tempted to request this feature again. it's so needed.
I think it doesn't need to be the "camera" that gets this feature, but possibly a new camera variant to place in the scene - like "ImageRenderer".
But what ever is the easiest.
My use case is simple:
I need an efficient way to render images of multiple models in the same scene - each image possibly with a different size and ratio.Ideally, I would be able to place all these ImageRenderers in the scene just like cameras, and override the default image size for each one as needed.
'photographer' addon
I know… But we shouldn’t need a paid add-on for this feature. It should be in Blender.
You can use this one - free and allows custom resolutions for each camera (version 0.39 works for Blender 3.3.1):

I also purchased Photographer, but I didn't like the UX.
Scrolling through the latest posts at the top of that page on the community forum, it seems that it has many bugs and error messages. But thanks anyway.
But a proper implementation in Blender would be always better than any add-on imo.
I see what you mean. When I used it however, I got zero error messages.. Now, it didn't seem to work at all..
So I stumbled over this reply - and I think I'll make a script that can do as I suggest in my comment here: blender.stackexchange.com/questions/156236/how-to-maintain-multiple-cameras-with-different-resolutions
OK, so I made my own very first Blender add-on. It is a multi-resolution camera add-on that allows you to quickly and easily manage all the cameras and their respective resolutions—then allowing you to render them.
You can find the plugin here: github.com/Gatada/MultiResolutionCameras
